2. Summary

3. Data in the app

Everything you create in the app – drawers, words, boxes, learning statistics and settings – is stored only on your device and is not transmitted to us.

Importing files: CSV, Excel and .haze files are read only on your device.

Sharing drawers: When you share a drawer, the app creates a .haze file containing the drawer’s name, languages and words (without learning progress). You send it yourself via your device’s share dialog, e.g. by messenger or email. You alone decide where it goes; the terms of that provider apply. We do not receive the file.

Backup: A backup is also a file that you save or send yourself via the share dialog.

Device backup: Your operating system may include app data in its own backup (iCloud / Android backup), which you control in your device settings; Apple’s or Google’s privacy policies apply.

4. Test versions

Test versions are distributed via Apple’s TestFlight or as Android test builds. Apple processes data under its own privacy policy and may provide us with information such as the name and email address of testers we invite, device type and OS version, installation and session data, crash reports and feedback you send us. We use this only to test the app and fix bugs (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is a bug-free app) and delete it at the latest when testing ends.

5. This website

The website is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA, and delivered through its network. When you visit it, Cloudflare processes technically necessary data such as your IP address, time, page requested and browser/device information to deliver the site and protect it against attacks. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in a secure and fast website). We have a data processing agreement with Cloudflare; transfers to the USA are based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, under which Cloudflare is certified, and on EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

The website sets no cookies, loads no third-party content (such as fonts or videos) and uses no analytics or advertising services.

Email: If you write to us, we use your message and email address only to answer your request (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR) and delete them once they are no longer needed.

6. Purchases

There are currently no purchases in the app. Once “Pro” is offered in the stores, we will describe here which data Apple, Google and our purchase-verification provider process.

7. Children

The app is also intended for children and teenagers. As the app sends no personal data to us, requires no account and uses no ads or tracking, no such data about children is processed by us through the app.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, e.g. the Bavarian Data Protection Authority (BayLDA), Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany. Contact us at the address above. To delete data on your device, delete drawers in the app or uninstall the app.

9. Changes

We will update this policy when the app or website changes. The current version is always available at this address.
